The Indian Institute of Management Calcutta (IIM Calcutta) will conduct the Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 tomorrow, November 24. The CAT 2024 exam will be conducted in three shifts: first shift from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, from 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 4:30 pm to 6:30 pm.

Candidates appearing for the CAT 2024 exam are required to carry a printed copy of their admit card along with a valid government-issued photo ID, such as Aadhaar, PAN card, voter ID, passport, or driving license, for verification purposes. Candidates are advised to report an hour before the commencement of exam. Candidates are required to bring a simple ballpoint pen, as rough sheets will be provided inside the examination hall.
The CAT 2024 admit card link is still active at iimcat.ac.in. Candidates will require their registration ID and password to download the CAT 2024 admit card.
CAT 2024 exam pattern
The CAT 2024 exam will consist of three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). The paper will feature a total of 66 questions. According to the marking scheme, candidates will earn 3 marks for each correct answer, while 1 mark will be deducted for every incorrect response. However, no negative marking will apply to unanswered questions.
CAT 2024 exam day guidelines
Candidates can have a look at the CAT 2024 exam day guidelines below.
- Ensure that your most recent passport-sized, colored photograph is securely attached to the admit card.
- Bring your CAT 2024 admit card along with a valid original photo identification proof to the test centre. Acceptable identification proofs include a passport, driver's license, Voter ID, Card, PAN card, Aadhar Card.
- Candidates who arrive late to the test centre will not be allowed entry once the gates are closed, regardless of the reason.
- Prohibited items include cell phones, calculators, watch calculators, alarm clocks, digital watches with built-in calculators, memory or any electronic or smart devices.
- Candidates are required to remain seated until the completion of the exam. Re-entry into the test hall after submission of the test is not permitted.
- Any attempt at impersonation or malpractice caught at any stage will result in the disqualification of the candidate and may lead to appropriate legal action.
