CAT 2024 Exam Live: IIM CAT slot 1, 2, 3 paper analysis; cutoff, answer key, marks vs percentile updates

NEW DELHI: The Common Admission Test (CAT) 2024 exam is over. The Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Calcutta has concluded the CAT exam 2024 for all three slots.

The CAT slot 1 and slot 2 exam exam concluded at 10:30 am and 2:30 pm respectively. As per candidates' reviews and expert analysis, the CAT 2024 slot 1 exam was of moderate difficulty, featuring 68 questions this year, compared to 66 questions in the previous year. As per the CAT slot 2 exam analysis, students rated the question paper as moderately difficult.

CAT 2024 comprises three sections: Verbal Ability and Reading Comprehension (VARC), Data Interpretation and Logical Reasoning (DILR), and Quantitative Aptitude (QA). CAT 2024 question paper carries a total of 66 questions. According to the CAT 2024 marking scheme, candidates will be awarded three marks for each correct answer while one mark will be deducted for each incorrect response. There will be no negative marking for unanswered questions.

IIM Calcutta instructed candidates to download the CAT admit card 2024 from the official website, iimcat.ac.in, only. The admit card mentions details such as name, registration number, exam date, slot, centre details, photo and signature.

The number of CAT test cities has increased from 167 to 170. Last year, candidates were allowed to choose six cities while filling out the CAT application form. This year, only five CAT cities are allowed to opt.

CAT 2024: Things to carry

Candidates appearing for CAT 2024 are required to carry the following documents to the exam centre:

• Valid Photo ID Proof: A government-issued photo ID, such as Aadhaar Card, PAN Card, Voter ID, Passport, or Driving License, must be presented. The ID details should match the information on the admit card.
• Passport-Sized Photograph: A recent passport-sized photo (preferably the same one used in the CAT application) should be carried as a backup in case of any issues with the admit card photograph.
• Admit Card Printout: The CAT 2024 admit card must be printed clearly in colour, displaying all details, including the photograph and signature.

CAT 2024 exam-day guidelines

Candidates appearing for CAT exam 2024 must follow the list of important CAT exam instructions given below.

• Candidates should arrive at the test center on time as per the reporting time sent to them via SMS and email the previous day. For the evening session, candidates should report by 4:15 pm.
• Cooperate with the exam centre staff during document verification and the security check.
• The barcode on the CAT 2024 admit card will be scanned at the scanning desk. After the barcode is scanned, the location of your test lab will be provided.
• Once you complete the exam, sign your IIM CAT 2024 admit card in front of the invigilator and drop it in the designated box before leaving the test lab.
