World University of Design to host art competition for metaverse, creating future avatar

WUD: “Artverse 2022” winners can get cash prizes up to Rs 10,000; Participants can access masterclass by experts
NEW DELHI: The World University of Design, Sonipat, Haryana, is set to host a digital art competition for the Metaverse called the “Artverse 2022”. The university has invited students across schools and colleges to participate in the event and in the art competition to create their own future avatars.
According to a statement from the World University of Design, students of the age group 16 – 21 years can participate in the WUD Artverse 2022 programme by registering at the official website of the World University of Design. The digital competition includes the creation of avatars such as superheroes, cyberpunk, fashionista, everyday professionals, futuristic military soldiers, characters from Indian mythology, and performing artists. Students are required to pay a participation fee of Rs 250 before March 20, 2022. The winners can get cash prizes ranging from Rs 2, 000 to Rs 10,000.

Once registered, candidates are entitled to a masterclass by experts in the field of illustration and character design. Registered students will also get certificates of participation from WUD.
WUD Artverse 2022 programme aims to provide the students with an opportunity to present their proficiency, ideas and an opportunity to sharpen their skills through the specially designed masterclass by experts.

Recently, the students of the school of architecture at the World University of Design had developed a tourism development plan for the ancient town of Dhubela in Madhya Pradesh which includes features such as light and sound shows, restoration of monuments, street markets, craft centres, connectivity projects, among others to promote the area as a heritage village and to attract tourists.
