West Bengal Board announces offline classes on alternative days for Class 10, 12; Guidelines here

The West Bengal Board said that Class 9 and 11 students can visit schools on Tuesday and Thursday and Class 10, 12 on Monday, Wednesday, Friday to maintain social distancing.
NEW DELHI: The West Bengal Board of Secondary Education (WBBSE) has announced that the offline classes for Class 10 and 12 will be held on alternative days to maintain social distancing. As per the circular issued by the WBBSE, physical classes for Class 10, 12 will be held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday. While Class 9 and 11 can visit schools on Tuesday and Thursday.
“Academic classes for Class 9 to 12 may be conducted from 10:50 am to 4:30 pm as per schedule from Monday to Friday in all districts except in the hill sub-division of Darjeeling and Kalimpong district. Academic classes in schools of the hill sub-divisions of Darjeeling and Kalimpong may commence from 9:30 am to 3 pm from Monday to Friday,” as per the guidelines issued by the WBBSE.

Further, the board instructed that there will be no classes for students on Saturday. Instead, schools are asked to conduct an awareness and feedback session for the parents and guardians on every Saturday.
The board requested the Commissioner of School Education to ensure the presence of senior education officers in such feedback sessions.
The guidelines have to be strictly followed until further orders, the board said, asking schools to make the arrangements operational immediately.
The state government reopened offline classes for Classes 9 to 12 on November 16 after a gap of 20 months due to Covid-19 situation. However, classes for primary students still continue online.
