UP cancels Christmas holiday, declares December 25 a working day for schools

UP schools will function on December 25, with special commemorative programmes to be held across the state to mark former PM Atal Bihari Vajpayee’s birth anniversary.
The Uttar Pradesh government has officially cancelled the Christmas holiday and announced that December 25 will be a working day for schools. This decision has been taken to commemorate the birthday of Bharat Ratna and former Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee, and to mark the conclusion of his centenary birth anniversary celebrations, according to a report by Zee News.
According to the order issued by the Basic Education Department, Uttar Pradesh, schools will function on December 25, with special commemorative programmes to be held across the state.
Although schools in several districts of Uttar Pradesh have been temporarily closed and schedules have been altered due to the severe cold conditions, the state government has clarified that schools will be open on December 25.

Christmas holiday cancelled for UP schools
Due to the intense cold, all schools from nursery to Class 5 in Varanasi will be closed on December 24, district Basic Education Officer (BSA) Anurag Srivastava announced.
Mirzapur DM Pawan Kumar Gangwar has declared a holiday on December 24 for students from nursery to Class 8 in UP Board, CBSE, and ICSE schools.
All schools in Farrukhabad, from nursery to Class 12, and in Raebareli, from pre-primary to Class 8, are closed today, December 23. In Sambhal, schools from Nursery to Class 12 will be closed tomorrow, December 24.
Instead of ordering a closure, Jhansi District Magistrate Mridul Chaudhary has revised school timings, with Classes 1 to 8 now operating from 10 am to 3 pm.
