Uttar Pradesh college admissions 2021 to begin today; Classes may resume mid-August

The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to start college admissions from August 5. Schools will reopen for Classes 9 to 12 from August 16 with 50% capacity.
NEW DELHI: The Uttar Pradesh government has decided to begin college admissions 2021 today, August 5. The government may also reopen colleges in the state in the middle of August, as per a Hindustan Times report.
Uttar Pradesh chief minister Yogi Aditya Nath recently said that preparations should be made to start new sessions in all educational institutions, even while keeping in mind the Covid-19 situation, according to the report.
Since the UP state board has already declared Class 10 and Class 12 results , the admission process for all undergraduate courses can begin from today, Yogi Adityanath said. The government is also considering resuming classes for college students from mid-August.
“Proper arrangement of sanitisers, infra-red thermometers, and masks have been made available at accessible points across the college premises; meanwhile, officials have been asked to ensure adherence to social distancing among students,” as per report.
Considering the dip in COVID-19 cases, the government recently decided to reopen schools for Classes 9 to 12 with 50 percent attendance from August 16.
"Students of high school and inter classes will participate in the 75th Independence Day celebrations on August 15. And on August 16, teaching will commence in the schools with half capacity, while adhering to the COVID-19 protocol," an official said.
