UPSC CSE Prelims answer key shows 3 questions dropped from paper 1

UPSC CSE Result: Candidates have been marked for 97 questions only in general studies 1 paper in last year's exam.
The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has released the answer key of Civil Services Examination - Preliminary (UPSC CSE) prelims 2024. Candidates can check the UPSC CSE prelims answer key on the official website, upsc.gov.in.
The commission has dropped three questions from paper 1 general studies 1. The test comprised a total of 100 questions carrying 200 marks. Hence, candidates will be marked for 97 questions only in paper 1.
Paper 2 for general studies 2 consisted a total of 80 questions with a maximum of 200 marks. There was negative marking in the UPSC CSE Prelims exam as per which candidates lost one-third of marks for each incorrect response.
UPSC Prelims 2024 prelims was conducted on June 16. A total of 14,627 candidates were declared eligible for the UPSC CSE Mains exam. The commission recently declared UPSC CSE final result which saw 1,009 candidates being recommended for appointment.
The candidates were selected on the basis of UPSC CSE Mains result which was declared on December 9 last year and interviews for personality tests.

Candidates can download the answer key of UPSC CSE prelims by following the steps given below.
- Go to the official website of UPSC, upsc.gov.in
- Click on the examination tab
- Now, click on the answer key link in front of “Civil Services (Preliminary) Examination, 2024”
- UPSC CSE answer key PDF will be displayed
- Download the PDFs for future reference
