UGC revises fellowship amounts for JRF, SRF, post doctoral, other schemes

University Grants Commission has approved the revised fellowship amounts to be effective from January 1, 2023.
NEW DELHI : The University Grants Commission (UGC) has increased the fellowship amount of various fellowship schemes. The commission approved the revised fellowship amount in its 572nd meeting held on September 20.
The revised fellowship stipends will be effective from January 1, 2023. UGC said that the increased rates of fellowship will only be applicable for existing beneficiaries.

“The University Grants Commission in its 572nd meeting held on September 20, 2023 considered and approved the revised rates of fellowship amount under the UGC fellowship schemes,” the commission said in an official notice.
The amount of Junior Research Fellowship (JRF) has increased from Rs 31,000 per month for two years to Rs 37,000 per month. Whereas, SRF fellowship amount has hiked to Rs 42,000 per month which was Rs 35,000 earlier.
