UGC NET June 2024 exam tomorrow; category-wise cut-off for JRF, assistant professor

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) will be conducting University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET 2024) June 2024 session exams for awarding doctoral scholarships, and to determine eligibility for assistant professor. In the latest notification, the statutory body has allowed universities to use NET eligibility for offering PhD admissions 2024.
Unlike the previous years, the NTA will hold the UGC NET exam 2024 in OMR-based mode for a total of 83 subjects. The exam will be conducted for a duration of 3 hours. Candidates will have to carry the UGC NET admit card 2024 along with a valid photo ID and passport size photograph for verification and attendance purposes.
The testing agency will conduct the exam in a single day for all 83 subjects, but in two shifts. The first shift will begin from 9:30 am to 12:30 pm and the second shift from 3 pm to 6 pm.
The exam is held to award Junior Research Fellowship and appointment as assistant professor, appointment as assistant professor and admission to PhD and admission to PhD only. The number of candidates to be qualified for eligibility for assistant professor has been set equal to 6% of the candidates appeared in NET in both paper 1 and paper 2 on the basis of their master’s degree or equivalent examination.
