UGC may create 'professors of practice' posts for those with industrial experience

Dharmendra Pradhan, the Union education minister said that will not affect the sanctioned positions of the university, and such provisions are already there in IITs.
NEW DELHI: The University Grant Commission (UGC) is planning to create positions for professors of practice based on their industrial experiences in universities across India. Union education minister Dharmendra Pradhan said in a written reply in the Rajya Sabha that such a decision, if taken, will not affect the sanctioned positions of the university. He also said that such provisions are already there in IITs.
