UGC extends deadline for MPhil, PhD submissions till December 31

Earlier, UGC had extended the deadline for PhD, MPhil submission till June 30, due to COVID-19.
NEW DELHI: The University Grants Commission (UGC) has further extended the deadline for submission of MPhil and PhD thesis by six months. The UGC has asked universities to further extend the deadline to December 31, 2021.
Earlier, in December the UGC extended the last date of submission by six months and allowed the thesis to be submitted by June 30, 2021, which has been further extended by six months now.
As per the UGC notification: “Keeping in view the larger interest of the research scholars, a further extension of six months beyond June 30, 2021, i.e., till 31 December 2021, for submission of the thesis by M.Phil/Ph.D students may be granted by the Universities.”
It has also granted a six months extension for publication and presentation in two conferences.
However, as per the UGC, the tenure of fellowship will remain up to five years only.
