CM SHRI Schools: The orientation programme was held to make teachers familiar with key aspects of NEP 2020 and NCF-SE 2023.
NEW DELHI: A two-day professional development and orientation programme for Primary Teachers (PRTs) of the proposed CM SHRI schools was conducted on Wednesday and Thursday to familiarise teachers with key aspects of the National Education Policy (NEP) 2020 and recently released National Curriculum Framework for School Education (NCF-SE) 2023.
According to a circular from the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT), the orientation was designed to help educators effectively integrate information and communication technology (ICT) and open educational resources (OERs) into their teaching practices. Sessions also focused on improving facilitation skills for learner-centric classrooms and on developing practical lesson plans, assessment tools and feedback mechanisms, the circular stated.
"A total of 86 primary teachers participated in the programme, which is part of the larger initiative to set up 75 CM SHRI schools across the city," it mentioned. The Delhi government earlier invited applications for the new schools through two circulars.
One, issued on June 5, called for applications from teachers, including Post Graduate Teachers (PGTs), Trained Graduate Teachers (TGTs), and PRTs, who have at least five years remaining before retirement. The second circular, on June 10, opened the transfer process for principals and vice-principals under similar conditions.
Modelled after the Centre's PM SHRI schools, the CM SHRI schools in Delhi will follow the NEP 2020 and implement the NCF-SE 2023. In her Budget speech in March, Chief Minister Rekha Gupta announced a Rs 100-crore allocation for developing the schools, which are envisioned to serve as model institutions under the Directorate of Education.
