Download EBookNEW DELHI : Telangana government has postponed the intermediate (Class 12) exams and cancelled the SSC examinations due to the present COVID-19 pandemic situation in the state. The decision was taken by the chief minister of the state after a high-level meeting with the special chief secretary of education, Chitra Ramachandran.
“The marks of Class 10 students will be evaluated on the basis of “objective criteria”, which will be developed by the Telangana SSC board. If any candidate is not satisfied with the marks awarded to him/ her, they will have an option to appear for the Board exam 2021 . These exams may be held after the situation normalizes,” according to a tweet by ANI .
As reported by NDTV , the decision for Class 12 exams will be taken in the first week of June, considering the COVID-19 situation. Students will be informed at least 15 days before the commencement of exams. Intermediate final year students with backlogs will get minimum passing marks for those subjects.
Earlier, the Class 10 exams were scheduled to be held from May 17, 2021, and intermediate exams were scheduled from May 1, 2021. The decision to postpone and cancel the exam came a day after the announcement on the CBSE board exams. States like Maharashtra, Punjab, Uttar Pradesh, and Gujarat have also postponed their exams.
