No quarterly, half-yearly exams for Tamil Nadu Class 10, 12 students this year

Download EBookNEW DELHI: Tamil Nadu Class 10, 12 will not have quarterly or half-yearly examinations this academic year, school education minister Anbil Mahesh Poyyamozhi said on Tuesday, The Hindu reported.
Anil Mahesh said, “We are exploring the possibility of having a combined mock exam, before the board examination, in December instead of the half-yearly and quarterly examinations,” as per the report.
He also informed that the Tamil Nadu Class 10, 12 board examinations will be held in March as usual.

The minister also discussed the safety measures to be implemented in schools, colleges. The state education department is planning to reopen Tamil Nadu schools for Classes 1-8. Schools resumed offline classes for Classes 9 to 12 on September 1, 2021. However, primary and middle school students have not attended physical classes since March 2020, the report said.
“There will be a surprise inspection by teams, once the schools reopen, to check whether all safety protocols are being followed,” the minister said.
Asking to address the infrastructure damage caused due to rain, the minister also said that a mass cleaning drive was also carried out in government and aided schools in Tamil Nadu.
