PSEB 12th Exam 2021 Cancelled; Results based on CBSE criteria before July 31, say reports

Download EBookNEW DELHI: The Punjab government has decided to cancel PSEB 12th exams 2021 due to COVID-19 pandemic. As per NDTV report, PSEB will declare the 12th Punjab Board result as per the pattern of CBSE evaluation criteria. Also, the PSEB 12th results 2021 will be declared before July 31.
State Education Minister Vijay Inder Singla said, “It was the need of hour to take a decision on examinations as students and parents were worried about admissions to the higher classes. It was not possible for the education board to conduct the examinations due to the challenges posed by coronavirus,” according to a NDTV report.
The board will follow the evaluation criteria developed by CBSE. Which means students will be promoted on the basis of the 30:30:40 formula.
Punjab board will prepare the result based on an average 30 per cent theory component of best three performing subjects out of the main five subjects in class 10th. Similarly, 30 percent weightage will be given to marks obtained by the students in pre board, practical examination in classes 11. And 40 percent weightage will be given to marks obtained in pre-board examination, practical examination and internal assessment in Class 12.
The school heads would be responsible for uploading the marks of students on the portal. The PSEB 12th result 2021 will be declared before July 31, 2021.
