Of the total 22 crore applicants, only 7.22 lakh got the job in eight years. Compared to 2017-18, India's unemployment rate has doubled in five years.
NEW DELHI: Taking a dig at the Bharatiya Janata Party-led (BJP) government, Congress leader Rahul Gandhi blamed the ruling party for the increasing unemployment rate in the country.
Of the 22 crore youth who lined up for government jobs in the past eight years, only 7.22 lakh got the job, that is, only 3 out of 1000,” Rahul Gandhi said. Attacking the BJP government, he further said, “Raja gets angry when he asks questions on unemployment. The truth is - they can’t generate employment.” He also said that the youth are assets to the country, but the BJP is portraying them as “liability”.
