NTA opens NCET 2026 registrations for admission to four-year ITEP; apply by March 10
The National Testing Agency will conduct the computer-based NCET 2026 tentatively on April 17 for admission to dual major programmes in education - ITEP.
The National Testing Agency (NTA) has started registrations for the National Common Entrance Test - NCET 2026 today. Eligible candidates can apply for the NCET 2026 for admission to four-year Integrated Teacher Education Programme (ITEP) through the official websites at nta.ac.in and exams.nta.nic.in.
The testing agency will close the NCET 2026 application form for admission to ITEP at central, state universities, including IITs, NITs, RIES for the academic session 2026-27 on March 10.
The computer-based NCET 2026 will be held tentatively on April 17. The college entrance test will be conducted in 13 languages, including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Punjabi, Odia Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
The ITEP is a dual major programme in education with school specific stage specialisation and the second major is in an opted discipline.
NCET 2026: Registration fee, syllabus
The NCET 2026 registration fee for general category candidates is Rs 1,200, whereas the application form charges for Other Backward Classes (OBC) - Non Creamy Layer (NCL), and Economically Weaker Section (EWS) is Rs 1,000.
Those belonging to Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST), Persons with Disability (PwD), Persons with Benchmark Disability (PwBD), Third gender categories should have to pay Rs 650 as NCET 2026 registration fee.
The syllabus for NCET 2026 includes reading comprehension, literary aptitude, and vocabulary. For domain subjects, the syllabus will be similar to Class 12.
The NCET 2026 question paper will have queries on general knowledge, current affairs, general mental ability, numerical ability, quantitative reasoning, logical, and analytical reasoning.
Moreover, the computer-based test will also have questions on topics related to science, mathematics, performing arts, languages, among others.
