Notice on NExT exam by AIIMS in second half of 2023 is ‘fake’; NMC official confirms

Try NowNEW DELHI: A notice on All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) set to hold the National Exit Test (NExT) in the second half of 2023 is fake, clarified a National Medical Commission official. The fabricated notice of NExT 2023 has also been reported on several media channels to mislead readers. The fake notice claimed that a meeting was held today, June 7 and the upcoming NExT is finalised to be conducted in the second half of 2023 and the detailed schedule along with its rules and regulations will be “disclosed shortly”.
However, refuting the notice, Dr Yogender Malik, Member, Ethics and Medical Registration Board of National Medical Commission (NMC) said that the notice is fake.
NExT seeks to replace the National Eligibility Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) exam for admission to postgraduate programmes in medical colleges across the country.

Saying that the National Exit Test part 1 will be held by the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), the fake notice further said that the exams will start in a month after the schedule is announced.
The NMC has also clarified that the notice is fake and has advised the candidates to check only the NMC website to verify the genuineness of notices, circulars and letters.
"All concerned are alerted to rely upon genuine letters, circulars and notices available on NMC website only. National Medical Commission shall initiate action under the relevant law against such fake messages in social media," the clarification added.
