NMC warns against fake permission letter issued to medical college in Andhra Pradesh

NMC clarified MARB has not issued letter of permission to GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry for increase of MD seats.
NEW DELHI: The National Medical Commission (NMC) clarified that a fake letter of permission was issued to GSL Medical College, Rajahmundry in Andhra Pradesh for increase of MD seats under the name of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB). The commission said that the letter has not been issued by MARB president as no application was received from the college for an increase of seats.
“It has come to the notice of Medical Assessment and Rating Board (MARB) of National Medical Commission that a forged/fake letter has been issued to GSL Medical College, Rajamundry for increase of seats in MD-Radio Diagnosis from 10 to 24 whereas no application was received from GSL Medical College, Rajamundry for increase of seats in MD Radio Diagnosis for the academic year 2023-24 and hence, no communication was sent to the college in this regard from MARB, NMC,” said that commission in an official notice.
Giving clarification, NMC said, “This letter is forged/fake and cannot be considered as valid permission from Medical Assessment and Rating Board, National Medical Commission.”

The fake letter dated March 24, 2023 read that the application of college under NTR University of Health Sciences has been approved for the academic year 2023-24. “This permission for increase in seats of above mentioned PG course and admission of students will be for such time the first batch of students admitted against the above course papers appears for the final examination in the subject,” it said.
“The above facts are brought to the notice of all concerned and the general public to not take any action based on the fake/forged letter. Appropriate action is being taken in the matter in accordance with the law,” NMC added.
Recently, NMC clarified that fake permission letters were issued to Meenakshi Medical College, Kanchipuram and Santhiram Medical College, Kurnool for renewal of MBBS courses.
