NMC nod for 6 government medical colleges in Telangana

Telangana health minister said approval process of the remaining 3 govt medical colleges in Nirmal, Karimnagar and Sircilla has reached the final stage.
NEW DELHI: The Telangana health minister T Harish Rao announced that the National Medical Commission (NMC) has accorded permission to six government medical colleges to start classes from the academic year 2023-24.
"Delighted to share that, out of 9 medical colleges to be started this year, 6 medical colleges already have got permission, i.e., Jangaon, Asifabad, Kamareddy, Khammam, Vikarabad, Bhupalpally,” Telangana health minister said on Wednesday night.
The approval process of the remaining three government medical colleges in Nirmal, Karimnagar and Sircilla has reached the final stage," he said.
The minister further said the Telangana government is briskly moving forward in setting up one medical college per district towards chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao's vision of "ArogyaTelangana”.

The NMC has approved 100 MBBS seats in these colleges. The minister shared the NMC approval letter for setting up Government Medical College, Jangaon and Government Medical College, Jayashankar Bhupalpally.
Government Medical College Khammam under the Kaloji Narayana Rao University of Health Sciences, Warangal, got the permission to start the classes MBBS courses for the academic year 2023-24 with 100 seats in the second week of April. Prior to this, the NMC granted permission to set up two new medical colleges in the Kamareddy and Komaram Bheem Asifabad districts
