NLSIU Bangalore’s new BA programme will serve as a route to 3-year LLB (Honours) and Master’s in Public Policy.
NEW DELHI : The National Law School of India University (NLSIU) Bengaluru is going to launch a new Bachelor of Arts (Honours) programme for the academic year 2025-26 on December 10.
The new BA (Hons) programme has been designed to combine academic learning with professional preparation, building on the university’s expertise in areas like history, sociology, anthropology, economics, and politics. The programme will serve as a route to NLSIU’s three-year BA LLB (Honours) and the Master’s in Public Policy.
This development comes at a time when there is growing interest among students and parents in exploring undergraduate BA degrees. The programme seeks to address the changing demands of careers in fields such as publishing, media, development practice, philanthropy, and the arts. While the programme initially draws on the expertise of NLSIU’s faculty in social sciences, the university plans to expand and incorporate other disciplines in the future.
During the launch, the law school will be showcasing the programme’s key features, releasing the digital brochure for the BA programme, and facilitating a question-and-answer session to address queries about the programme. NLSIU vice-chancellor Sudhir Krishnaswamy, NLS BA (Hons) committee head Atreyee Majumder, and dean-academic Saurabh Bhattacharjee will address the event.
