NIT Sikkim organises 5th convocation; 252 students awarded with degrees

NIT Sikkim awarded 19 PhD, 36 MTech, 15 MSc and 182BTech degrees to over 200 students on 5th convocation ceremony on April 8, 2023.
NEW DELHI: The National Institute of Technology (NIT) Sikkim conducted its 5th convocation ceremony today, April 8, 2023. The institute awarded a total of 252 degrees awarded to graduating students of which, 19 were doctor of philosophy (PhD) degrees, 36 were students of master of technology (MTech), 15 were master of science (MSc) and 182 were bachelors of technology (BTech).
For outstanding overall performance among BTech graduates, Aditi Parashar was awarded the director gold medal and Anjali Roy received the institute gold medal for the best academic performance among the BTech students. . The medals and degrees were awarded to the graduating students by the chief guest, guest of honor and the director of NIT Sikkim.

The Convocation witnessed a solemn ceremony attended by academicians, officials from the Government of Sikkim, personalities from reputed industries, proud parents of graduating students, school students from around Ravangla, media fraternity from various media houses, faculty members, staff and graduating students of the Institute.
The welcome address and the director’s report were presented by Professor M.C. Govil, Director, NIT Sikkim. The keynote of the report was accolades and achievements of the Institute during the the last thirteen years, with special emphasis on the past year.
The guest of honour Komal Kapoor advised the graduating students to apply acquired knowledge effectively and participate in nation building. He urged the engineers to work in the field of nuclear energy where the nation intends to invest a lot of resources in its endeavor to produce clean energy. He reminded the students about the importance of hard work, application of acquired knowledge, innovation, perseverance and most importantly a positive attitude.
