NEET UG Counselling 2022: Candidates can resign from round-1 counselling till November 12

Candidates can resign from the round-1 of NEET UG counselling by 3 PM on November 12, 2022. After this they will be part of round-2 by default.

Try NowNEW DELHI: The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has decided to open resignations from the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test Postgraduate (NEET UG) counselling 2022 round-2 till November 12, 2022. Candidates can resign from round-1 of NEET UG counselling on mcc.nic.in.

In view of numerous requests from candidates to allow resignation from round-1 of counselling as most states including Armed Forces Medical College (AFMC) have declared their results. Candidates can resign from the round-1 of NEET UG counselling by 3 PM on November 12, 2022.
After this, the candidates will be considered as part of round-2 of counselling by default and will have same rules applied to them as applicable for round- 2 under normal circumstances. MCC advises candidates to ensure that their resignation letter is generated online via the portal provided by MCC by their allotted college. Failing to do so will make the attempt to resignation 'null and void' and will make them a part of round-2.

"Any letter other than resignation letter generated through online portal will not be considered as ‘Resignation Letter’. In case candidate is resigning by sending email to college, they should make sure that they receive Resignation Letter generated through online portal of MCC." read MCC's official notice.
In the case where a candidate gives consent to be upgraded to round-2 but fails to get an upgrade, they will not be eligible to resign the seat and will have to retain the seat. Rules of round-2 will be applied to the candidate as there is no option of resignation if there is no upgrade.
The MCC notification further read "Round-1 joined candidates who neither participate in Round-2 nor resign the seat of Round-1 will be considered part of Round-2 after the stipulated time. Hence, candidates who desire to resign their seat of Round-1 should do so by 03:00 PM of 12 November, 2022 before the Round-2 commences."
