According to LiveLaw, the candidate claimed that she had correctly answered 171 out of 180 questions, but the OMR sheet issued by the National Testing Agency (NTA) showed only 11 attempts. She also alleged that the signature and thumb impression on the sheet were not hers.
Advocate Mathews J Nedumpara requested the court to allow the candidate to make a representation before the NTA. The NTA stated that the candidate had attempted 11 questions, of which only two were correct.
Officials added that all OMR sheets were sealed in pink envelopes in the exam room in front of students. The process included the signatures of two student witnesses to ensure proper handling. The candidate did not dispute this procedure, LiveLaw noted.
The Andhra Pradesh High Court had previously dismissed the plea after noting inconsistencies in the candidate’s signatures. The Supreme Court said it could not direct the NTA to accept a representation and dismissed the plea. The verdict confirms that the evaluation and handling of OMR sheets by the NTA in NEET(UG) 2025 followed standard procedures.
Following the conclusion of the NEET(UG) 2025 round 1 counselling, the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has opened registration for the delayed second round of counselling. Candidates can now apply for NEET UG round 2 counselling 2025 through the official website at on mcc.nic.in. The last date to submit the form is September 9.
