NEET SS 2021 as per old exam pattern: The decision comes a day after the Centre announced to defer NEET SS 2021 exam by two months.
NEW DELHI: The Centre and National Board of Education today informed the Supreme Court that it will conduct the National Entrance Eligibility Examination for super speciality courses (NEET SS) 2021 as per the old exam pattern, the Hindustan Times reported.
The decision comes a day after the Centre announced to defer NEET SS 2021 exam by two months. NEET SS 2021 scheduled to be held in November will now be conducted in January 2022. The Centre also told that the NEET SS 2021 postponement was to give candidates enough time to prepare as per the new exam pattern.
However, the Centre and NBE said that the NEET SS new exam pattern that was challenged in the top court will be implemented from the next academic year 2022-23.

The NEET SS 2021 exam which was scheduled from November 13-14, has now been decided to be held on January 10-11.
As per the prevailing NEET SS 2021 exam pattern that has been in existence from 2018, 60% of marks are from the speciality and 40% are from generic feeder courses.
41 postgraduate doctors approached the Supreme Court challenging the abrupt ‘last-minute changes’ in the exam pattern of NEET SS 2021. Following which, the top court issued a notice and sought responses to Centre, Centre, National Board of Examinations (NBE), and National Medical Commission (NMC).
NEET SS 2021 will be held for admission to over 4,200 seats for DM (Doctorate of Medicine), M.Ch (Master of Surgery) and DrNB (Doctorate of National Board).
