NEET revised result 2024, final answer key out; websites to check

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has published the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) revised result 2024 and NEET UG revised final answer key 2024 today, July 26, for the exam held on May 5. Candidates who appeared for the exam download the NEET revised scorecard 2024 from the official website, neet.ntaonline.in and the NEET UG 2024 final answer key from the NTA official website, nta.ac.in. Students need their login credentials such as application number and password to download the NEET 2024 revised score card whereas login is not required to access the NEET final answer key 2024.

“FINAL ANSWER KEY (REVISED ON 26.07.2024) FOR NEET (UG) - 2024 EXAM HELD ON 05.05.2024. The revised key is in pursuant to the order dated 23.07.2024 of Hon'ble Supreme Court of India in W.P (Civil) No. 335/2024,” reads the answer key PDF.

The Supreme Court asked NTA to publish revised results, for the second time, by considering option four as the correct answer to the controversial physics question as submitted by the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Delhi expert panel. With this, the number of toppers in NEET UG 2024 are slated to be reduced further. The NEET re-exam result already rendered only 61 candidates as toppers.

SC order came after a bench led by the Chief Justice of India (CJI) Chandrachud refused to cancel the NEET 2024 conducted on May 5 on account of paper leak as it found a lack of data or evidence to prove the sanctity of the exam was breached.

NEET physics question

The top court approved the submission of the committee comprising IIT Delhi physics department experts, which suggested NTA’s answer key as correct, and upheld that there cannot be two correct answers to a question. The apex court had previously asked the institute’s director to form a committee and give its answer, during the NEET hearing.

Recently, NTA released city and centre-wise results 2024 keeping candidates’ identities masked, following orders from the apex court.

Of 23.33 lakh candidates who appeared for the exam this year, 67 grabbed the All India Rank (AIR) 1 to become NEET UG toppers 2024. Of these, 44 benefited from question number 17 of the physics section. Upon examining the objections raised by the students against the answer key provided by the NTA, the subject experts found and recommended two correct answers due to differences in the new and old editions of the NCERT book. Following this, all those candidates who chose any of the two answers were given full marks for the question.

This year's NEET UG for admission to MBBS, BDS, AYUSH programmes offered by medical institutions across the country, was marred by controversy over alleged paper leak, malpractices, huge number of toppers, grace marks, and early result declaration.
