NEET UG registration 2025 will close in a week, NTA advises students to ‘avoid last minute rush’

Try NowNEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has advised MBBS aspirants to complete the National Eligibility-cum-Entrance Test Undergraduate (NEET UG) registrations before March 7. Candidates, who wish to write the single-largest medical entrance exam for MBBS, BDS, AYUSH, and other medical courses, will have to apply through the official website at neet.nta.nic.in.

“The registration process for NEET UG 2025 commenced on February 7, 2025, and will close on March 7, 2025, at 11:50 PM. Candidates are advised to complete the process at the earliest to avoid any last-minute difficulties. Candidates are requested to ensure timely submission of their application to avoid last minute rush,” the NTA advisory read.
The NEET UG 2025 exam will be conducted on May 4 in pen and paper mode. The agency will hold the entrance test to fill a total of 1,08,940 MBBS seats. The exam will be conducted for 3 hours from 2 pm to 5 pm.
The NEET UG exam 2025 underwent major changes after last year’s paper leak allegations and malpractices, which led to formation of a high level expert committee. The panel recommended changing the mode of the exam and holding exams in Kendriya Vidyalayas (KVs) and Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya (JNVs). However, the NTA announced that it will conduct the exam in pen-paper mode.
Changes introduced by the NTA for NEET UG 2025 include number of exam centres, timing of the test hall, NEET UG tie-breaking method , and exam pattern.
Notably, the testing agency also announced that APAAR ID is not mandatory for the NEET UG 2025 registrations. On the other hand, the National Medical Commission (NMC) also clarified that the candidates, who have completed their Class 12 from the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS), are also eligible to apply for the NEET UG 2025 registrations.

NEET UG Registrations 2025: Necessary documents to upload
Candidates can apply for the NEET UG 2025 exam by March 7. To register for the test, applicants need to
upload
correct and scanned documents to complete their applicantion process.
Documents required to upload for the NEET UG 2025 are as follows:
- Aadhaar card
- Class 10, 12 marksheets and passing certificates
- Scanned photo of candidate’s signature.
- Candidate’s scanned finger and thumb impression.
- Passport-size photo (should be latest, not too old).
- Any photo ID issued by the government.
- Category certificate, if any
- Domicile certificate.
What’s next for registered candidates?
After the registrations for NEET UG 2025 are closed, the NTA will host the application correction facility for candidates from March 9 to 11 through the official portal. The agency is expected to release the NEET UG 2025 admit card tentatively on May 1.
