According to the Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) is expected to announce the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test for Postgraduate (NEET PG) 2025 counselling schedule for MD and MS admissions by mid-October. The update follows communication between the doctors’ body and officials of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
In a social media post, FAIMA provided the update, stating, "As per our communication with MOHFW officials, NEET PG counselling is most likely to begin by mid-October. Further details awaited. Stay tuned!"
Candidates have been awaiting the NEET PG 2025 counselling schedule for several weeks, amid growing uncertainty caused by ongoing legal proceedings. The MCC NEET PG counselling schedule 2025 will be announced on the official website at mcc.nic.in.
The Supreme Court has given the National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) two weeks to respond to petitions filed by NEET PG 2025 candidates and the United Doctors Front (UDF), according to the latest updates from the ongoing hearings.
Earlier, NBEMS had announced that it would release the answer keys, response sheets, and question papers for the exam. However, it later clarified that only question IDs would be made available, citing miscommunication and the proprietary nature of the exam content as the reason for the change.
The petitioners have raised concerns over this decision, arguing that publishing only the answer keys without the corresponding questions prevents candidates from verifying their results and assessing the fairness of the evaluation process.
The Supreme Court is expected to review the transparency petitions again once the two-week period ends. In the meantime, MBBS graduates continue to wait for the MCC to announce the NEET PG counselling schedule, which is critical for admissions to postgraduate medical courses.
Meanwhile, some states, including Andhra Pradesh, Gujarat, Kerala and Tamil Nadu, have commenced the NEET PG 2025 counselling process.
