NEET, NET Row: Govt seeks public suggestions on NTA exam reforms

Try NowNEW DELHI: The union government has sought suggestions from the public on the reforms in the examination process conducted through the National Testing Agency (NTA). This comes after the high-level committee formed by the ministry of education decided to seek suggestions, views, and ideas from students, parents, and others concerned on exam reforms. The seven-member panel has been formed to look into the functioning of NTA and suggest exam reforms following the recent incidents of paper leaks and irregularities in NEET, NET.

The suggestions can be submitted on the official website of the government, innovateindia.mygov.in. The deadline to share views on NTA exam reforms is July 7.
“The Government of India has constituted a high-level committee on 22nd June 2024 under the Chairmanship of Dr. K. Radhakrishnan, Former Chairman, ISRO and Chairman, Board of Governors, IIT Kanpur, and comprising of members from government, government organizations, academia, and higher educational institutions,” read the official site.
Panel on exam reforms
The panel will make recommendations on reforms in the mechanism of the examination process, improvement in data security protocols, and structure and functioning of NTA . The expert committee will submit its report within two months. The recommended reforms will be implemented by the next exam cycle. The panel will also review the exam calendar and make suggestions.
NTA has been under fire over the allegations of paper leaks and alleged irregularities in the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) 2024 and cancellation of the University Grants Commission National Eligibility Test (UGC NET) 2024 as well as CSIR NET 2024.
