NLU Delhi’s LLB student Amrutavarshiny, hailing from Tamil Nadu, was reportedly worried about her studies.
NEW DELHI: An undergraduate student pursuing LLB at the National Law University (NLU) Delhi allegedly died by suicide. The university mourned the loss of the law student and extended condolences to family and friends through social media.
“NLUD deeply mourns the untimely loss of one of our student and extends our heartfelt condolences to the family and friends during this difficult time. The well-being of every student in university is the paramount and most important factor and NLUD. May her Soul rest in peace,” said NLU Delhi in a post on X (formerly Twitter).
According to IDIA, a non profit organization working for the marginalised and underprivileged communities across India by improving diversity in legal education, the deceased LLB student Amrutavarshiny hailed from Tamil Nadu. The organisation also expressed grief over her death.
The NLU student was stressed about academics and had suicidal thoughts that she shared with her friends, Delhi Police told the Indian Express. The police reportedly found a suicide note along with the body stating no one is responsible for her death and apology to her parents for the step.
Recently, a third-year BA LLB (Honours) student of the Ram Manohar Lohia National Law University (RMLNLU) was found dead in her hostel room. An Indian Police Services (IPS) officer’s daughter, Anika Rastogi, died due to heart attack.
