Try NowThe Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) said that it has decided to allow candidates who have been allotted seats in the first round of the National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET) UG counselling 2025 to resign without forfeiture of security deposit. Students who reported to the college allotted in MCC NEET UG seat allotment 2025 can resign from their seat between 11 am on August 21 and 5 pm of August 25. NEET counselling 2025 live updates.

The counselling committee took the decision after receiving representations from various MBBS, BDS aspirants who expressed their wish to exit the admission process.
“MCC is in receipt of many requests from UG candidates who want to resign their Round-1 reported seats due to various reasons. In this regard, the competent authority has decided to allow Resignation without forfeiture of security deposit for such candidates,” the committee said in the latest notification.

MCC asked candidates to note that they will be required to report physically at the allotted college to resign their seat. It also advised candidates to ensure that their resignation letter is generated online (through the provided portal) by the allotted college, failing which the resignation will be treated as ‘Null & Void’.
The committee recently extended the last date to report to the allotted college in MCC NEET UG counselling 2025 round 1 till August 22. The final NEET UG seat allotment 2025 was published on August 13 after the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) Delhi dropped one seat for Scheduled Caste - Persons with Disabilities (SC-PwD) category from the seat matrix.
