Try NowThe State Common Entrance Cell (CET) Maharashtra has clarified that APAAR ID is not mandatory for filling the National Eligibility cum Entrance Test - Undergraduate (NEET-UG) counselling 2025 registration form. The state CET Cell has also advised economically weaker section (EWS) category candidates to upload their certificate in state format only.

NEET 2024 Admission Guidance: Personalised | Study Abroad
NEET 2025: Syllabus | Most Scoring concepts | NEET PYQ's (2015-24)
Recently, the state Cell received some queries regarding providing the APAAR ID while filling out the Maharashtra NEET counselling 2025 application form. However, providing APAAR ID is purely voluntary and not mandatory for registration.
Candidates who already have APAAR ID are advised to fill in the ID details in the Maharashtra NEET counselling 2025 registration form.
As per the official state CET Cell notice, candidates will have to submit their EWS certificate at the time of admission to claim the benefits under the category. Candidates belonging to any other reserved category are not eligible for benefits under the EWS category and will not be considered for the EWS quota, even if they submit the certificate. Candidates will be converted to the open category in the provisional merit list.
10% EWS quota has raised concerns
This year, the Maharashtra government has introduced 10% reservation for the EWS category . While the scheduled caste (SC), scheduled tribe (ST), other backwards classes (OBC) categories already take up 25% of the seats, and 10% is for the socially and economically backward classes (SEBC) quota, the MBBS aspirants under for unreserved category have raised concerns. The move has been called an ‘unjust decision’ for open category candidates, with many demanding an increase in the number of seats offered or withdrawal.
Candidates can fill in the Maharashtra NEET counselling 2025 registration form till July 30 on the official website, cetcell.mahacet.org. As per the Maharashtra NEET counselling 2025 schedule, the CAP round 1 selection list for MBBS and BDS admission will be issued on August 7.
