Anurag was preparing to go to Uttar Pradesh’s Gorakhpur, where he had secured MBBS admission. Despite scoring a top rank in one of the toughest entrance exams, in which 23 lakh students appeared, and getting admission to a medical college, the student took the extreme step.
According to the police, the PTI reported that he was found hanging from the ceiling by his family in the early hours. The suicide note recovered from his room revealed that he did not want to pursue MBBS, instead wished to build a career in business.
A senior officer said further investigation into the case is underway.
