Kerala school reopening order applicable to CBSE, ICSE schools as well: Sivankutty

CBSE, ICSE schools should abide by Kerala govt's order as they require ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the state government to function, Sivankutty said.
NEW DELHI: Kerala state education minister V Sivankutty said that the schools affiliated to the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) and the Council For the Indian School Certificate Examinations (CICSE) should strictly follow the Kerala government’s order for reopening schools for offline classes, according to reports.
He said that some CBSE, ICSE schools in Kerala are yet to resume physical classes in the state. The Kerala education minister pointed out that the school reopening guidelines issued by the state government is applicable for CBSE, ICSE schools also.

According to the report, Sivankutty said, “These schools are supposed to abide by the government instructions and rules as they require ‘No Objection Certificate’ from the state government to function.”
“The Department of General and Higher Education is willing to help if required,” the minister said, as per the reports.
After nearly two years, Kerala schools for Classes for 10, 11 and 12 and college students began from February 7. “The classes for children from Class 1 to 9, creche and kindergarten will start from February 14," a release issued by the Chief Minister's Office said.

The health department in the first week of February said it has completed vaccination of 72% of children in the age group of 15-18, while the second dose has been administered to 85% of the targeted population.
