Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan inaugurates 53 new school buildings under 100-day programme

CM Pinarayi Vijayan says around Rs 5,000 crore invested in school infrastructure for last 5 years
NEW DELHI: Kerala government inaugurated as many as 53 new school buildings under the second 100-day programme, said Kerala chief minister Pinarayi Vijayan. In a tweet, Vijayan claimed that the Kerala government has invested around Rs 5,000 crore in public school infrastructure development in the last five years.
The Left Democratic Front (LDF) government in Kerala will complete one year of governance on May 20, 2022. According to various media reports, Vijayan has announced a 100-day programme that includes 1,557 projects worth Rs 17,183.89 crore. A similar action-plan programme was held in the state in the previous year too.
“Inaugurated 53 new school buildings as part of the second 100 Day Programme which includes 1,557 projects worth ₹17,183.89 Cr. In the last 5 years, Kerala has invested approximately Rs 5,000 Cr in the infrastructure of public schools resulting in 9.34 lakh new admissions,” Vijayan said in a Twitter post.

According to a news report by Manorama, the programme includes the development of about 2,500 classrooms for students of Classes 8 to 12 by the Scheduled Castes development department. It also includes initiatives for providing vocational education for differently-abled individuals above persons.
