Kendriya Vidyalaya announces 987 TGT, PGT vacancies for KVS special educator recruitment 2026

KVS special educator recruitment 2026 application will begin on the official website, kvsangathan.nic.in, once the notification is issued.
The Kendriya Vidyalaya Sangathan has announced a KVS special educator recruitment drive 2026-27 for 987 TGT and PGT vacancies. The recruitment drive aims to fill posts for trained graduate and primary-level teacher posts to support children with special needs (CwSN) across Kendriya Vidyalayas.
The application process for KVS special educator 2026 vacancies will begin on kvsangathan.nic.in, once the notification is issued. Out of the total vacancies, 493 are for special educator TGT and 494 are for PRT posts.
The role of the KVS special educator will focus on identifying student needs and developing individualised plans. The list of roles and responsibilities includes:
- Identifying educational, social, emotional, and behavioural needs through formal and informal assessments.
- Reviewing data (referral, history, assessment) to set appropriate goals and objectives.
- Confer with general education teachers on student needs and objectives.
- Plan, develop, and implement individualised learning plans and design appropriate teaching strategies.

KVS Special Educator Recruitment 2026: Eligibility
The eligibility criteria for primary and graduate-level teachers for the KVS recruitment drive are as follows.
KVS Eligibility for PRT Special Educator : Candidates applying for PRT special educator posts must have passed Class 12 with at least 50% marks. In addition, they should hold a two-year Diploma in Special Education in any recognised category of disability. Qualifying CTET paper 1 conducted by CBSE is compulsory. Also, the candidate must show the ability to teach in both Hindi and English.
KVS Eligibility for TGT Special Educator : Candidates applying for TGT Special Educator posts should have a graduation degree with at least 50 per cent aggregate marks. Professional qualifications include a BEd in Special Education or a BEd general, along with a one-year Diploma in Special Education. Applicants must have qualified CTET Paper 2.
In addition, valid registration with the Rehabilitation Council of India (RCI) is compulsory for appointment to these posts. Furthermore, the minimum and maximum age limits shall be 18 and 65 years, respectively.
