KCET 2025 applicants who claim clause ‘a’ not required to get documents verified; guidelines

NEW DELHI : The Karnataka Examinations Authority (KEA) has issued some guidelines for verification of documents for students who have applied for Karnataka Common Entrance Test (KCET) 2025. The last date for KCET registration 2025 is February 18 and aspirants can apply on kea.kar.nic.in.

KCET 2025 will be conducted on April 16 and 17 for admission to undergraduate engineering, medical, and other professional courses offered at institutions across the state for the 2025-26 academic session.

KEA asked college principals to submit ‘ok’ in their login after verification of the documents submitted by the candidates. In case any student is found to be forging certificates or submitting fake documents, they will be debarred from the admission process and KEA will initiate criminal action against them.

KCET 2025 document verification guidelines

Here are the guidelines for verification of documents after submission of KCET 2025 application form :

• Students who have claimed clause code 'A' and who have not studied from Class 1 to 10 in Kannada medium, rural, religious or linguistic minority reservations but whose seven years of study have been verified through SATS will get a claim certificate as successfully verified. Such candidates are not required to visit any college for verification and their application has been accepted.
• Students who have claimed clause code "A" and studied 10 years from Class 1 to Class 10 and claimed Kannada medium, rural, religious or linguistic reservation will receive the claim certificate printed as 'claimed verified’, ‘claimed not verified’ or ‘not claimed’. Such students will have to meet the principal of Class 12 or nearest government pre-university (PU) college along with the relevant original documents and one set of xerox copies for verification of the documents.
• The schedule for document verification for students who have entered clause codes 'B', 'C', 'D'. 'T', 'J', 'K', 'L', 'M', 'N' other than clause code 'A' will be published on the KEA website.
• Students who have entered clause code 'E', 'F', 'G', 'H', 'O' will have to get the academic documents verified in the Class 12 college. But documents related to defence, ex-defence, CAPF, ex-CAPF should be submitted thereafter for verification in KEA.
• 371(j), caste, caste-income certificate RD numbers are being verified online. Hence, students should check the validity of the certificates and enter the RD numbers correctly in the application.

KEA also issued a set of guidelines for document verification of KCET 2025 candidates claiming agriculturist quota for admission to farm universities. Such applicants will be required to pay Rs 1,200 (Rs 600 for SC, ST). Students will be able to submit the documents online between April 1 and April 15. The universities will prepare the list of eligible candidates between April 4 and 17, which will be made available on the website on April 19.

Documents required for KCET application 2025

All the documents should be between April 2024 and March 2025 and the amount of affidavit is Rs 100.

• KCET admission ticket
• In case of agriculturist or labour in agriculture and allied sector, candidates should submit the relevant certificates issued by the Tahsildar or acknowledgment with RD number.
• Family tree (Vamshavruksha) issued by the Tahsildar as supporting document in case of undivided family for considering agriculture quota (with RD number and QR code).
• Income certificate issued by the Tahsildar (including agricultural income and all other sources of income With RD number and QR code).
• Affidavit-I along with the income certificate wherein candidate or parent should declare that agriculture is their only source of income (first party will be candidate and second party will be the respective university under which the candidate's practical exam center falls).
• Salary certificate (if salaried class).
• Certificate for income details from business (if associated with any business).
• Affidavit-II along with the income certificate, wherein the candidate or parent should declare all sources of their income (including agriculture and salary / business / pension etc.). Agriculture should be the main and major source of income (first party will be the candidate and second party will be the respective university under which the candidate's practical exam center falls).
