JEE Mains 2026 Day 3 April 5 Analysis
As per the student reactions, expert opinions and subject matter experts, the JEE Main 2026 April 5 Shift 1 and Shift 2 papers were overall easy to moderate, with a balanced distribution of questions across all three subjects. The exam followed the recent trend where Mathematics was the most time-consuming, while Chemistry remained the highest scoring. Physics fell in between, offering a mix of direct and conceptual questions.
Physics: The Physics section was moderate and largely formula-based. Most students were able to attempt this section comfortably within 45–50 minutes. Questions were asked on topics like current electricity, optics, semiconductors, and modern physics. Overall, it was a high-scoring section with minimal tricky questions.
Mathematics: Mathematics was challenging and lengthy, making it the toughest section of the paper. Questions required strong conceptual clarity rather than direct formula application. Major topics included calculus, coordinate geometry, vector & 3D, and probability. Time management was crucial, as many students found it difficult to complete the section fully.
Chemistry: Chemistry emerged as the easiest and most scoring section. The questions were mostly straightforward and NCERT-based, with higher weightage from inorganic and organic chemistry. Topics like biomolecules and D & F block appeared. The section was less time-consuming, helping students balance their overall attempt.
