try now testNEW DELHI : While the Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) session 2 registration 2025 is underway on the official website, jeemain.nta.nic.in, aspirants may want to revisit the JEE Mains 2025 eligibility criteria to avoid cancellation of their applications. The National Testing Agency (NTA) has clearly specified what exams are valid to be eligible for JEE Mains 2025 session 2.

Students who have passed Class 12 or equivalent exam in 2023, 2024, or are appearing in the exams in 2025 are basically eligible to appear for the JEE Mains 2025 April session.
JEE Mains results 2025 for session 1 have been declared. 14 candidates have scored 100 percentile in the engineering entrance exam, emerging as the JEE Main 2025 toppers .
BTech aspirants who did not apply for the JEE Mains 2025 session 1 or wish to improve their scores in the national entrance test can complete the JEE Main registration 2025 by February 25, 2025.
JEE Main Session 2 Registration 2025: List of qualifying exams
Candidates who passed any of these exams in 2022 or earlier are not eligible for JEE Main 2025 :
- Class 12 final examination conducted by any recognized central or state board, such as the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), Council for the Indian School Certificate (CISCE) etc.
- Intermediate or two-year Pre-University (PU) exam conducted by a recognized board or university.
- Final examination of the two-year course of the joint services wing of the National Defense Academy (NDA)
- Senior Secondary school examination conducted by the National Institute of Open Schooling (NIOS) with a minimum of five subjects.
- Any public school/board/university examination in India or any foreign country is recognized as equivalent to the 10+2 system by the Association of Indian Universities (AIU).
- Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) vocational exam.
- A diploma recognized by AICTE or a state board of technical education of at least three-year duration.
- General Certificate Education (GCE) exam (London/Cambridge/Sri Lanka) at the Advanced (A) level.
- High School certificate examination of the Cambridge University or International Baccalaureate Diploma of the International Baccalaureate Office, Geneva.
- Candidates who have completed the Class 12 (or equivalent) examination outside India or from a board not specified above should produce a certificate from the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) to the effect that the examination they have passed is equivalent to the Class 12 examination.
- In case the Class 12 exam is not a public examination, the candidate must have passed at least one public (Board or Pre-University) examination earlier.
