Entry inside the JEE Main exam centre will begin at 7 am. Candidates should follow the JEE Main dress code on the exam day. The JEE Mains 2025 exam session 1 will be held from January 22 to 30. Candidates are advised to appear for the exam in simple dress.
JEE Main dress code for male, female
The NTA has not issued any detailed JEE Main dress code for male and female candidates, however, they are advised to avoid wearing caps, scarves, accessories, electronic devices, or any other metallic items. Wearing any kind of jewellery or ornaments is not allowed inside the exam hall. Candidates are advised to wear simple and comfortable clothes. Candidates must avoid clothes that have many pockets and any metallic items attached to them.
Candidates are advised to wear lightweight and comfortable clothes to avoid any discomfort during writing the exam. Candidates should also avoid wearing caps, mufflers, or any other cloth over their heads. Any closed footwear including shoes is not allowed at the exam centre. Candidates should wear open footwear with low heels to the exam centre.

JEE Main 2025: List of prohibited items at exam centre
Candidates can check the list of banned items that are not allowed inside the JEE Main exam hall:
- Electronic devices
- Books, notebooks, and any written material
- Pen or pencil
- Bags or backpacks
- ID card other than the approved ones
- Eatables and water
However, candidates who are diabetic are allowed to carry sugar tablets, fruits like bananas, oranges, or apples, and transparent water bottles. Diabetic students are advised to keep a check on their health before and in between the JEE Main exam to avoid any health issues.
Candidates are advised to carry their JEE Main admit card 2025 along with a valid ID proof to the exam centre for verification purposes. The JEE Main exam date, timings, venue and other details will be mentioned on the JEE Main 2025 admit card.
