The testing agency is currently holding JEE Mains 2026 registrations on its official website at jeemain.nta.nic.in for session 1 exam. The exam dates for session 2 has been revised. The NTA has also clarified that no use of calculator allowed in JEE Main 2026 after it published a typographical error in informationa bulletin.

Earlier, aspirants rejoiced as the NTA announced an onscreen standard calculator allowing basic calculations for the first time in the exam. However, the testing agency has now said that it will not be allowed as the virtual calculator is a part of the generic test conducting platform.
The NTA earlier announced the JEE Main 2026 exam date , and accordingly JEE Main 2026 session 1 exams will be held from January 21 to 30, and session 2 from April 1 to 10. However, the session 2 exam dates have now been revised.
The testing agency has also directed candidates to keep their Aadhar, UDID, and category certificates updated to prevent any discrepancies while filling out the JEE Main 2026 application form.
The engineering entrance exam is held to offer admission to undergraduate programs in engineering, architecture, and planning across the top Indian Institutes of Technology (IITs) , National Institutes of Technology (NITs), Indian Institutes of Information Technology (IIITs), and other centrally funded technical institutions.

As per the JEE Main 2026 eligibility criteria, there’s no age limit to apply. Candidates who have qualified for Class 12 in 2024 or 2025, or are appearing in 2026, can apply. Additionally, candidates should have physics and mathematics along with any other subject from chemistry, biotechnology, biology, and technical vocational to fulfill the criteria.
