“Preparing for JEE Main Physics can be challenging, but with the right approach and mindset, students can master this subject and boost their scores,” P Sindhura, director of Narayana Educational Institutions said.
Paper 1 of JEE Main 2025 is conducted for students seeking admission into BE, BTech courses and paper 2 is held for BArch and BPlanning admissions. Those who have opted for paper 1 will have to attempt three sections - mathematics, physics, and chemistry. The JEE Main question paper 2025 will have multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and questions for which the answer is a numerical value, with equal weightage to mathematics, physics and chemistry.

Last month preparation tips for JEE Main 2025
To make the JEE Main 2025 last-month preparation easier, here are five tips to tackle the JEE Main physics section, according to P Sindhura.
1. Strengthen your conceptual understanding - Focus on building a strong foundation in topics like mechanics, electrodynamics, optics, and modern physics. Use reliable resources like NCERT textbooks and video tutorials to clarify fundamental concepts. “Physics is not about rote learning; it’s about understanding principles and how they apply. Remember, if your basics are strong, you can solve even the trickiest problems.”
2. Practice regularly and strategically - To score well in physics, students will have to regularly practice solving a variety of problems. Dedicate time for solving previous years’ JEE Main question papers and take mock tests. “This will not only improve your speed but also enhance your accuracy. Regular practice helps identify your weak areas, giving you a chance to address them before the exam,” he said.
3. Focus on important topics and weightage - While every topic is crucial, some areas have historically higher weightage in JEE Main. Focus more on topics like electromagnetism, mechanics, thermodynamics, waves, and oscillations. Prioritising these topics will give you an edge. Understanding the JEE Main 2024 overall exam analysis is crucial to score well in the exam. As per the JEE Main exam analysis, the physics section was easier compared to mathematics and chemistry.
4. Develop problem-solving techniques - Mastering problem-solving techniques like dimensional analysis, approximation, and elimination can save time during the exam. Learn to visualise problems and break them down into simpler parts. Additionally, adopt a systematic approach by reading the question carefully, identifying the concepts involved, and applying the appropriate formulae.
5. Manage your time effectively - Time management is crucial for cracking JEE Main with a good rank. “While solving the physics section, don’t spend too much time on a single question. If a question seems difficult, move on and come back to it later if time permits. Aim to complete the easier and moderate-level questions first to build confidence and secure marks quickly,” the director added.
