try now testNEW DELHI: Mathematics has been rated the ‘toughest’ by engineering aspirants who appeared in the Joint Entrance Examination Main (JEE Main) this year. With just a month left for the JEE Main 2025 session 1 exams, here are five tips to score more marks in the mathematics section.

JEE Main mathematics 2025 is the only common subject in paper 1 conducted for BE, BTech and paper 2 for BArch and BPlanning. This section will be held in computer-based test (CBT) mode and will consist of objective-type and questions for which the answer is a numerical value.
As per the JEE Main exam analysis, students found the maths section to be the most difficult in session 1 and session 2 exams compared to chemistry and physics . The JEE Main maths question paper was lengthy and had more calculative questions. Most of the questions were asked from AP, GP, definite integration, vector on the midpoint on the intersection line, circle, 3D, and 2D geometry, calculus, set, relation, and function, integration and matrix chapters.

5 tips to crack JEE Main mathematics 2025
Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry chapters carry high weightage in JEE Main mathematics. Here are five tips and trick to score high marks in JEE Main maths 2025, according to P Sindhura, director of Narayana Educational Institutions.

Understand concepts thoroughly : Focus on understanding the fundamentals of each topic rather than rote learning. Strong conceptual clarity will help you solve even the trickiest problems.

Practice, Practice, Practice : Maths is all about practice. Solve as many problems as you can from various sources, including past papers and mock tests. This helps improve speed and accuracy.

Time management is key : During practice sessions, time yourself to ensure you can solve problems quickly. Prioritise simpler questions first during the exam to secure marks efficiently.

Focus on high-weightage topics : Pay special attention to topics like Calculus, Algebra, Coordinate Geometry, and Trigonometry, which are frequently tested and carry higher weightage.

Revise formulas daily : Maintain a formula book and revise it regularly. Knowing formulas by heart can help you solve problems more efficiently under pressure.
