JEE Main 2024 January session records 95.8% attendance for paper 1; highest ever

try now testNEW DELHI: The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE) Main 2024 January session exam witnessed one of the highest attendance of 95.8 per cent for paper 1, as per the National Testing Agency (NTA). The number of candidates registered for JEE Main exam this year is 12,31,874 which is about 27% higher than the previous year.

This year the number of cities and the JEE Main exam centres also increased where the exam was conducted. "The attendance across the Country was 95.8% for Paper 1 (BE / BTech). This is one of the highest percentages of attendance for JEE (Main) since NTA has started the conduct of JEE (Main) examination", NTA said.
This time, there has been a significant increase in the number of students appeared for Paper 1, reaching over 11 lakhs for the first time. This marks a notable rise compared to 8.23 lakhs in 2023 and 7.69 lakhs in 2022.

The total count of registrations is 12,31,874 for JEE Main 2024. In which there are common candidates for both paper 1 and paper 2.

The NTA conducted JEE Main 2024 session 1 on January 24, 27, 29, 30, 31 and February 1, 2024 in computer based test mode. The JEE Main 2024 January 2024 exam was held in 544 centres in 291 cities.
A total of 21 exam cities were outside India which include Manama, Doha, Dubai, Kathmandu, Muscat, Riyadh, Sharjah, Singapore, Kuwait City, Kuala Lumpur, Lagos/Abuja, Colombo, Jakarta, Moscow, Ottawa, Port Louis, Bangkok, and Washington DC. The exam was also conducted in Abu Dhabi, Hong Kong, and Oslo cities for the first time.
NTA administered the JEE Main 2024 in 13 languages including Assamese, Bengali, English, Gujarati, Hindi, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Odia, Punjabi, Tamil, Telugu, and Urdu.
