The Joint Entrance Examination (JEE Main) 2024 session 1 exam, conducted by National Testing Agency (NTA), will be held from January 24. The JEE Main 2024 exams will be held on January 24, 27, 29, 30, 31 and February 1. Along with the first lot of JEE Main admit cards, the NTA has also issued guidelines to be followed at the exam centres. The JEE Main 2024 guidelines include a list of documents and other materials that candidates need to carry to the exam centres.

JEE Main 2024: What to carry to the exam centre
Here's what candidates must carry:
- The admit card for JEE Main 2024.
- A valid photo ID proof.
- An extra photograph to be pasted on the attendance sheet.
- The self-declaration form. Download the self-declaration form from the NTA website, print it on an A4 size sheet and fill it.
- A transparent ballpoint pen.
- A transparent water bottle.
JEE Main 2024: Exam-day guidelines
Here's what to do and expect at the JEE Main 2024 exam centres:
- Arrive at the exam centre at least 30 minutes before the reporting time stated in the JEE Main 2024 admit card.
- Candidates arriving after the gates are closed will not be permitted to enter the exam centre.
- Write your name and roll number at the top of the rough sheet provided during the exam.
- Return both the rough sheets and admit card to the invigilator before leaving the exam hall.
- Admit card, photograph, and a valid photo ID proof are mandatory for appearing in the JEE Main exam.
- Do not carry prohibited items such as mobile phones, study materials, electronic devices, or any other unauthorised items to the exam venue.
- Diabetic students can bring eatables like sugar tablets, fruits, and transparent water bottles to the test centre.
- Packed foods like chocolates, candy and sandwiches are not allowed.
JEE Main 2024 dress code
The dress-code is part of the NTA's exam security measures. Here's what is allowed and not:
- Do not wear anything with too many pockets.
- Do not wear jewellery.
- Wear simple clothes without accessories.
- Preferably wear a t-shirt and jeans, or top or kurti with leggings.
The city intimation slips for BArch and BPlanning were issued on January 13.
Over 11 lakh wrote the JEE Main last year. Every year, the top 2,50,000 scorers are eligible to write the JEE Advanced. This year, the JEE Advanced is scheduled on May 26.
