JEE Main 2023 results out; What is NTA score, how is percentile calculated?

NEW DELHI: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the session 1 JEE Main 2023 result for BE, BTech paper 1 on the official websites jeemain.nta.nic.in and ntaresults.nic.in. Along with the NTA JEE Mains result 2023, the testing agency has also released the JEE Main final answer key for paper 1.

The JEE Main 2023 results will have subject-wise NTA score and the total marks obtained by the candidates in the JEE Main first attempt. The NTA will be conducting the JEE Main 2023 session 2 on April 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, 11, 12. The registration for session 2 will begin today at the official website.

This year, the NTA has announced two chances to appear for the engineering entrance exam. A candidate need not appear in both sessions. However, if a candidate appears in more than one session then his/her best of the JEE Main 2023 NTA scores will be considered for preparation of the merit list and ranking.

What is NTA score?

Since JEE Main 2023 exam is conducted in multiple shifts and dates, NTA scores will be calculated corresponding to the raw or the actual marks obtained by a candidate. The NTA scores for each of the three subjects, mathematics, physics, and chemistry, and the total in BE, BTech of session 1 of paper 1 will be displayed in the JEE scorecard.

How will NTA compile results?

The NTA scores for each of the candidates in total in BE, BTech JEE Main session 1 as well as for session 2 will be merged for compilation of results and preparation of the overall merit list, ranking. The best of the two NTA scores will be considered for further processing for those candidates who appeared in both sessions.

In case two or more candidates secure same NTA score, tie breaking method will be used by the NTA.

What are JEE Main percentile scores?

JEE Main percentile scores are scores based on the relative performance of all those who appear for the examination. The marks obtained are transformed into a scale ranging from 100 to 0 for each session of examinees.
