Previously, NTA has postponed JEE Main 2020 entrance exam due to Coronavirus pandemic in the country. After postponing JEE main 2020 two times, National Testing Agency has finally decided to conduct the exam from September 1 to 6 in computer based mode.
JEE Main 2020 Entrance Exam - Students Reaction
As per the reports students were quite satisfied with the safety measures taken at the various exam centres for COVID-19. In many states candidates attempted JEE Main 2020 in very large numbers. According to the JEE Main Paper 2 analysis 2020 , the questions were easy to moderate while paper 1 was easy to moderate.
JEE Main Exam Day 1 - Challenges Faced By Students
In many states candidates faced problems to reach the exam centre on time. There are transportation and heavy floods problem in many states. Candidates have faced many difficulties like lockdown in contaminated areas, transportation and others.
As per the reports 40% of JEE Main 2020 registered candidates did not appear on the first day. In Lucknow city 44% of candidates have skipped JEE Main Paper 2 due to the fear of pandemic. There is a similar response in Ludhiana city as only 178 candidates out of 388 registered candidates have appeared for the exam. In Odisha around 3600 candidates appeared for the exam on JEE Main 2020 on day 1. In Assam state less than 50% of candidates appeared in the exam.

There are many states in which special buses and trains are also running for the JEE Main aspirants. Chief ministers of Odisha and Madhya Pradesh also announced special free transportation services for the candidates.
As per the official press release from West Bengal Government, West Bengal Chief Minister Mamta Banerjee stated that 75% of candidates were unable to take the exam due to COVID-19 pandemic. She added that only half of the students managed to changed their exam centre in the state.
