JEE Advanced 2026 on May 17; top 2.5 lakh Mains qualifiers eligible for IIT admissions

Download NowThe Indian Institute of Technology (IIT), Roorkee, has announced the Joint Entrance Examination – Advanced (JEE Advanced 2026) exam dates for B.Tech admission. As per the JEE Advanced 2026 exam date, the admission test will be held on May 17 for a duration of 6 hours, consisting of two separate papers, paper 1 and paper 2, each lasting 3 hours.

The exam centre list and complete schedule will be available soon on jeeadv.ac.in. The computer-based exam will be held in various cities across the country. The question paper for the entrance exam will be in both English and Hindi.
The JEE Advanced 2026 exam will consist of two papers; Paper 1 will be held from 9 am to 12 pm, and Paper 2 from 2:30 pm to 5:30 pm, and it is mandatory to attend both papers.
The top 2.5 lakh candidates in the JEE Main 2026 exam will be eligible to apply for JEE Advanced 2026.
JEE Main 2026 session 1 exam will be held from January 21 to 30, while session 2 will be held from April 2 to 9.
JEE Advanced 2026: Eligibility criteria
To be eligible for the JEE Advanced 2026 exam, candidates must appear in the JEE Main exam and qualify for the cutoff score.
Candidates should be born on or after October 1, 2001. For SC, ST, and PWD candidates, the upper age limit is relaxed by five years, meaning they should be born on or after October 1, 1996.
Candidates who passed Class 12 in 2025 or are appearing in 2026 are eligible to apply for the JEE Advanced exam. Those who passed their Class 12 boards in 2024 or earlier are not eligible.
Last year, a total of 2,50,236 candidates qualified for the JEE Adv exam.
