Jamia Millia Islamia VC inaugurates free Covid vaccination camp

JMI VC also inaugurated a microbiology laboratory, free cardiology OPD and a free orthopaedics OPD set up at the health centre, and a routine vaccination centre.
NEW DELHI: Jamia Millia Islamia (JMI) vice-chancellor Najma Akhtar inaugurated a free Covid vaccination camp titled ‘Covid Vaccination Amrit Mahotsav’ today as part of Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav at MA Ansari Health Centre of the university. The Covid vaccination camp will be held from August 2 to 5. Registered individuals who are 18 years and above are given free booster shots and precautionary doses as part of the Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav.
Akhtar also inaugurated the Routine Vaccination Centre started at JMI , which was set up by collaborating with the Delhi government. "Vaccination is an effective means to fight COVID-19 and we are all sitting here safe and secure as we have already taken two doses of the vaccine. I will appeal to all adults above 18 years to come and get themselves vaccinated," she said. She also congratulated the Ansari Health Centre officials for starting a routine vaccination centre and other facilities.

According to a statement from Jamia Millia Islamia University, all mandatory vaccines will be administered to small children every Thursday at the centre. Akhtar also inaugurated a microbiology laboratory, free cardiology OPD and a free orthopaedics OPD set up at the health centre by collaborating with Max Health Care. The health centre is also starting a three-day Basic Life Support (BLS) training programme for physiotherapy students from August 8 to 10.
