ISC Class 12 Board Exam 2026 LIVE: CISCE 12th Economics paper begins; analysis, answer key, passing marks

The Council for the Indian School Certificate Examination (CISCE) is conducting the ISC Class 12 Economics board exam 2026 today, March 23. The 12th board exam is being held in a single shift from 2 pm to 5 pm for a duration of three hours.

The ISC Economics theory paper is held for a total of 80 marks, while 20 marks will be given for the internal assessment.

The ISC Class 12 Economics question paper includes objective-style multiple-choice questions worth 1 mark, as well as short- and long-answer questions. The question paper will also cover queries on concepts, graph-based analysis, and applications for economic theory.

As per the syllabus, the ISC 12th Economics paper will be based on microeconomics' chapters, including demand and supply, elasticity, market structures, perfect competition, monopoly, etc, consumer equilibrium.

ISC Class 12 Economics Paper: Passing marks

The ISC 12th questions from macroeconomics will be on national income, money and banking, fiscal policy, government budget, and balance of payments.

As per the ISC 12th passing criteria, students will have to obtain at least 35 marks out of 100 to qualify for the ISC Class 12 Economics paper. As per the exam day guidelines, students must carry their ISC Class 12 board exam hall ticket, pens, and basic stationery.

Items such as mobile phones, smart watches, calculators, written notes and other electronic devices are not allowed inside the school board examination hall.

The ISC board has advised students to follow the exam day guidelines or instructions and reach the exam centre 30-40 minutes before the exam begins. No student will be allowed to enter the exam hall before the time, it said.
